Illarra nets scoring debut to BC Rangers (0-3)
The visit to BC Rangers brought with it an important victory and Asier Illarramendi's first HK Premier League goal. The Basque talented midfielder connected with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box that found the back of the net, opening the scoring in the league match and pushing for a comfortable win for Kitchee at the Tsing Yi Sports Ground.
The match began with Kitchee creating early opportunities. A long pass from Roger Riera found Adrián Revilla, whose close-range effort struck the crossbar. Shortly after, Revilla’s cross from the left was met with a header from Leandro Martínez that went wide.
In the 32nd minute, Kendy provided a clever assist to Illarramendi, who struck from the edge of the penalty area, putting Kitchee ahead 1-0. Later in the half, Lam Jordan Lok Kan had a chance with a close-range header, but it failed to find the net, and Kitchee went into halftime leading by a solitary goal.
After the break, Leandro had a chance in the 50th minute but sent his shot wide after receiving a return pass from Tan Chun Lok. In the 84th minute, substitute Wong Ho Chun Anson received a pass from Kendy and sent a cross into the area, where Revilla converted to extend Kitchee's lead to 2-0.
Just four minutes later, Cheng Chin Lung delivered a superb pass to Ruslan Mingazov under pressure; Mingazov then found Wong at the far post, who finished clinically to make it 3-0.
Ultimately, Kitchee cruised to a 3-0 victory, securing all three points in convincing fashion.
