MLS Debut and win for Illarra with FC Dallas
FC Dallas number 14 Asier Illarramendi made his official MLS debut on Saturday. The midfielder played his first minutes in the competition against Austin FC, coming on from the bench after the break. At 58' he jumped onto the pitch of Toyota Stadium and had a hand in a hard-fought win, as the winner by Nkosi Tafari was grabbed on injury time (97’).
Getting all three points was the main objective for the local side in this Texan contest between two sides involved in the battle for an MLS play-off spot: After the game Asier's team climbed to eighth place in the Western Conference table, one point above Austin FC. There will be 18 clubs that will qualify for the Playoffs this season, 9 from each conference. The next fixture for FC Dallas is scheduled on Thursday against St. Louis, leader of the Western Conference.
