“It has been very difficult to take a decision. Real Sociedad gave me everything. I am what I am in football because of Real Sociedad. It has been 12 years here and to leave wasn’t an easy decision to take”, said Illarra sheding tears alongside the Presidente Jokin Aperribay and the Sports Director Lorenzo Juarros Loren.

“A lot of thins has been said. I was already on holidays when I knew about first Real Madrid contacts. There were some talks and short after I had a proposal. Things were unraveling quickly and after a deep think about it I understood it was an unique and unrejectable opportunity. It has been hard but I think it is the right choice”.

Illarramendi said “thanks” all the support from the fans and teammates: “I’m linked to this club, I hope it’s only a “see you later”, said Illarra. “I came here being a child and now I leave as a man. I start a new stage and I will give my all on the training sessions. If I have a chance to play also I will give it all on the pitch”.
