La Real made its Copa del Rey debut this afternoon beating CD Cazalegas (1-4). The txuri urdin won the team from Toledo with goals by Navarro, Sorloth (2) and Merino in the match played in Talavera de la Reina. Txuriurdin Skipper Asier Illarramendi played the full 90 minutes at the El Prado Stadium.

The txuri urdin opened the scoring in the first offensive action. Navarro stroked home a left-footed shot that nestled in the top corner of Machuca’s goal. The locals gave it their all and endured the txuri urdin dominance of the first half.

In the second half, la Real continued with their dominance, but without success up front, what allowed the locals to enjoy some chances to equalize, which they did. Rivera scored the first for CD Cazalegas in the 68th minute. La Real had to rush things to avoid an unpleasant surprise and scored again with a goal by Sorloth from a cross by Brais. The Norwegian, shortly after, scored a brace after adding the third for the realistas in a one-on-one with the keeper. The hosts were very tired and Merino scored the fourth with a header from a corner kick to put the game to bed.

La Real suffered more than expected but have qualified for the next round of the Copa del Rey. Now, it’s time to rest and recharge batteries. Go, Real!
