Another win away from home (0-1)

La Real recorded another win away from home. Just as they did in Cadiz, today they also clinched all three points in their visit to the Martínez Valero. A goal by Brais Méndez in the first half gave the realistas the victory. Illarra was back to action in his debut scenario when he came onto the pitch replacing David Silva on minute 78.

Despite the heat, the match got off to a blistering start. Real had more control of the ball but it was Elche who carved out the game’s first opening when Collado’s shot was well held by Remiro. The txuri urdin combined well and in one of these actions, Zubimendi played a wonderful pass to Brais who beat Badía with a low shot. Imanol's side continued to be better side and, on the half-hour mark, they were awarded a penalty. However, the goalkeeper from Elche saved Merino’s effort.

The start of the second half was more even and the hosts enjoyed a good chance after Remiro denied Raúl Guti. Then, Ponce tried his luck but Le Normand put in a great performance to keep the goal out. The match was out of control and Francisco's team gained some possession and ground. A slower attack by the realistas ended with a shot by Karrikaburu that went narrowly wide.

Another win to remain solid away from home. Three points to bolster confidence. We’re going all out for a win at home next Saturday. Aurrera, Reala!
