Two out of two. La Real continues its steady pace in the UEFA Europa League as they beat Omonoia FC this afternoon at the Reale Arena (2-1). Our team picked up a second consecutive victory, moving out as the sole leaders of their group. Skipper Asier Illarramendi formed on the starting line-up and played 75 minutes of the game before his replacement by Turrientes.

The side from San Sebastián felt in good shape during the first few minutes, reaching the area with ease and frequency but not having clear chances. A header by Aritz, in a somewhat forced position, which went wide, was the clearest chance for la Real. Then, the opening goal did duly materialize in the 30th minute after Guevara unleashed a right-footed shot that flew into the top corner of the opponent’s goal. A great goal to put Imanol's side ahead. Lennon's team never relented in their efforts, but it was to no avail.

The Txuri Urdin could have increased their lead in the second half, but they failed to materialize their chances. Sorloth, with a good shot, and Navarro, in a stumbling play, failed to hit the target. The visitors did not create any danger, but in an unfortunate action, Bruno equalized with twenty minutes to go. The realista response came eight minutes later when Sorloth added a second from a Take pass.

La Real’s European winning run continues. The next Europa League clash will see la Real face Sheriff away from home. But first, LaLiga.
